Brother Spotlight: Kyle Kuhl

Alternative Spring Break

Over Spring Break in 2013, I traveled to Achiote, Panama with a group of 20 students selected by CSU’s SLiCE program. We spent our time working with La Asociación Centro de Estudios y Acción Social Panameño (CEASPA),a local Panamanian company that focuses on ecotourism and

environmental conservation. We spent seven days building houses, a general store, repairing bridges, painting a mural, exploring the local area, and experiencing a new culture. After returning to CSU, the SLiCE program selected me to be the student site leader for the 2014 trip.

Summer Internship.

I spent my summer working with SBM Offshore, an engineering firm that focuses on the design, construction, sales, and operations of offshore production units for oil and gas. The company is based out of The Netherlands, and I was working with their Houston branch. I spent my summer researching oil field blocks in the Gulf of Mexico, managing technical and commercial reports for several projects currently under operations, and designed/wrote up a capture plan for the Leviathan FPSO. This is a project that SBM is building for Noble Energy, in which a Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit (FPSO) will be placed in the Mediterranean Sea to drill for natural gas until around 2030.
